The Town Haringhata has some Unique features like Haringhata dairy firm established in the year of 1948-49, a dream project of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.
Here in the town we have six universities - West Bengal University Of Technology, Vetenary University, Indian institute of Science Education and research Centre(IISER), Fishery and Animal Husbandry,University of Radio Physics, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya(BCKV) along with a degree college, two private engineering College, Seven Higher Secondary Schools, 22 Numbers of primary school, one B.T Training college, Six Numbers Of S.S.K . A Stadium and a Bus terminus has been proposed equipped with modern Amenities.
Haringhata is encircled by five districts – (North) 24 PGS, Hooghly, Howrah, Burdwan and Murshidabad. Moreover the city started in the midst of agricultural land. Several nearby villages are well communicated with the city.
The geographical location of the Municipality is 22.97 degree N 88.54 degree E in the northern tip,22.92 degree N,88.54 degree E in the south,22.93 Degree N and 88.52 degree E in the west 22.96 degree N,88.54 Degree E in the eastern tip. The Area is bounded on the north by the Birohi II Gram panchayet, on the east Fatehpur Gram Panchayet, on the south by Moricha Gram Panchayet, and on the west by the Bhaluka Gram panchayet.
The maximum length from east to west is around 6kms, while the maximum breadth from north to south is about 6 Kms.
Eastern railway- sealdah Division Main line also connects Haringhata, which takes approximately Two hour from the Sealdah railway station. The Municiplity can also be accessed through NH -34 . The distance between nearest airport and Haringhata is only 54 kms and it takes approximately Two Hour to travel.
